1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Novelux. By accessing or using our platform — whether as a reader, author, acquisition editor, or visitor — you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Novelux. If you are under 18, you must have the permission of a parent or legal guardian. By using Novelux, you represent that you meet these requirements.

Authors must be at least 18 years old to enter into contracts or receive payments.

3. Accounts

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You must provide accurate and current information when registering.
• You may not create more than one account per person without written permission from Novelux.
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.

4. Reader Rules

As a reader, you agree to:

• Use Novelux only for personal, non-commercial reading purposes.
• Not copy, reproduce, distribute, or scrape any content from the platform.
• Not use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access or interact with the platform.
• Not share your account credentials with others to circumvent access limits.
• Treat other users and authors with respect in comments and messages.

5. Author Rules

By publishing on Novelux, you agree to:

• Submit only original work that you own or have the legal right to publish.
• Not plagiarise, copy, or submit content that infringes any third-party rights.
• Format manuscripts according to the guidelines provided in the author portal.
• Maintain an active update schedule once a story is listed publicly.
• Not simultaneously publish the same chapter on another platform without disclosing this to Novelux if you hold an exclusive contract.
• Comply with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction regarding content creation.

6. Content Standards

All content published on Novelux must comply with our content guidelines. The following is strictly prohibited:

• Sexual content involving minors (zero tolerance — results in immediate termination and reporting to authorities).
• Graphic violence glorifying real-world harm or targeted individuals.
• Hate speech based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or disability.
• Doxxing — publishing private information about real individuals.
• Content that facilitates illegal activities.
• Spam, misleading titles, or artificially inflated engagement.

Novelux reserves the right to remove any content that violates these standards without notice and without compensation.

7. Intellectual Property

Your content

You retain full ownership of the original works you publish on Novelux. By uploading content, you grant Novelux a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, display, distribute, and promote your content on and through the platform for the duration of your agreement.

Novelux content

The Novelux name, logo, website design, and all proprietary platform features are the intellectual property of Novelux. You may not use, copy, or reproduce any of these without our express written permission.

Copyright infringement

If you believe content on Novelux infringes your copyright, please submit a takedown request to legal@novelux.com with the required details.

8. Payments & Royalties

• Royalties are calculated based on ad revenue generated by your story's views, as outlined in your individual contract.
• Standard royalty split is 50% to the author, 50% to Novelux, unless otherwise stated in a signed contract.
• Withdrawals are processed weekly. Minimum withdrawal amounts may apply depending on your selected method.
• Novelux reserves the right to withhold payment if we suspect fraudulent activity, policy violations, or if there is a dispute over content ownership.
• All payments are subject to applicable taxes. Authors are solely responsible for reporting and paying taxes on their earnings.

9. Termination

Novelux may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms, without prior notice. You may also delete your account at any time from your account settings.

Upon termination:

• Your access to the platform will be revoked immediately.
• Published content may remain on the platform if required under an active contract.
• Any pending earnings will be processed in accordance with the terms of your contract.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Novelux and its affiliates, officers, and employees shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to loss of revenue, data, or business opportunities.

The platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

11. Disputes

Any disputes arising from these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If resolution cannot be reached within 30 days, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration under the rules of the jurisdiction in which Novelux is registered.

You waive any right to participate in class action lawsuits against Novelux to the extent permitted by law.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. We'll notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of Novelux after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
