I waited till whoever it was sped past me, into the woods.
“You want me to come find you? Fine, I will.”
I stepped into the shadows of the woods, gliding through the dense bush without rustling a single leaf, whoever it was ahead was running for his life but it was already too late, I had given him a chance.
In a split second, I was standing right in front of him, stopping him in his tracks, I could see the look of utter surprise in his face, I gripped his neck and pinned him to a tree, my grip so strong I could hear bones shifting beneath my palm.
“How far did you think you could get? I said through gritted teeth.
“Tell me, what is your mission here?” I poured command in my voice, looking him straight in the eye, compelling him to speak.
He tried to speak but a magic sign appeared on his lips,

Whoever sent him already has his life in a death grip; he can’t say anything till he successfully completes his mission.
suddenly, he dropped something in his hand as his body burst into flames, reducing to ashes. I lowered my hand and looked down at what was discarded; a small sphere.
I crouched down and picked it up, taking a closer look, it had strange carvings on it, I could recognize what it was from just a little glance,

The shadow realm’s influence has really spread farther than it did in the past and has managed to get their hands on ancient, deadly weapons. What other terrors could they have up their sleeves?
My mind suddenly drifted to Amelia, i have been away for two days and the monster have been a bit calm. It was wise of me to take that scarf; her lingering scent has helped me through, though it’s not enough.
I have to go back, else I could really loose control soon and there is no chain room here to keep me bound.
I walked out of the woods until I got to the road, Peter was already there, waiting.
“Your majesty. Are you okay?” He asked, bowing his head,
“I am fine, Peter. Let us head back to the villa, we leave early in the morning tomorrow “ i said and he nodded opening the door as we drove off into the night.
Back at the villa, I walked straight into the bathroom, took off every piece of clothing and let the water stream down from my head to my feet.

I slammed the file shut, tossing it on the table.

I picked up my phone and called Kara, she answered on the second ring.
“Helion, hi.”She sounded sleepy,
“Were you asleep?” I asked her,
“Newsflash, I am not like you who doesn’t sleep” she responded
“How is she?” I asked as I got up from the couch and paced around the room.
“Well, she’s fine “ her tone drifted. I could sense something was wrong.
“What happened?” I urged her,
“Nothing, really.” She responded.
“Do not lie to me Kara, you know how much I hate lies” I said through gritted teeth.

I clenched my fist as I listened to her, anger building up in my chest.
“Helion? Are you there?”
“Who was it?” I asked.
“I don’t know but I saw his face. The funny thing is that after dinner with Amelia tonight, i took a walk just to know if I could see him again but, he was nowhere to be found “ she responded.
How did the shadow realm manage to infiltrate my home this much.
“Alright. I will be back tomorrow, just make sure she does not leave your sight “
“Okay. Please do return tomorrow, I have to go back to school “
“I know .“ I responded and dropped the call.

Morning came in a blink, there was a knock on the door as I got up from the bed.
“Come in” I ordered as Peter walked in.
“Everything is ready, my lord. we can depart at your order“ he said.
“Alright. First, there is something I need you to do .”I signaled him to come closer and I said some words into his ear.
“I’ll wait for you at the airport, you know what I mean, do you not?“ I asked him, He nodded and exited the room.
I entered the bathroom, showered and dressed up. My luggage was already taken to the car, I walked out of the villa, entered the car and we drove to the airport. peter arrived an hour and few minutes later.
“Is it done?” I asked him, drumming my fingers lazily on my lap .
He hesitated , his voice dropping to a tense whisper .
“Yes, your majesty, but he wasn’t alone”
